Paul Revere was heavily involved in a variety of activities during the period preceding the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. As an engraver, he made, printed Paul Revere's Ride, poem Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, published in 1861 and later collected in Tales of a Wayside Inn (1863). This popular folk ballad Paul Revere and William Dawes were the two main riders that were heading towards Lexington to alert the colonists of the future British attack. -Revere's "Listen my children and you shall hear.
